“Oral History from A to Z: Multi-Narratives of the Lebanese Civil War” trainings are now receiving applications

In collaboration with Majed Abu Sharar Media Foundation, forumZFD is holding a 6-week training on oral history focusing on the Lebanese Civil war. Interested applicants should send their CV and motivational letter to: majedabushararmediafoundation@gmail.com by the 13th of October.

In collaboration with Majed Abu Sharar Media Foundation, forumZFD is organizing a training over three workshops on oral histories of the Lebanese Civil War, under the framework of the Dealing with the Past Programme. The training Oral History from A to Z: Multi-Narratives of the Lebanese Civil War” is open for journalists, civil society activists, and activists using social media to enact change within their society. The trainings will cover a number of topics, including comprehensive overview of oral history and its practical application, understanding the meaning of identity and multi-perspectivity, as well as communication skills. Dr. Maria Basur Abi Nasser and Mr. Hassan Salha will be providing the training which will be taking place on the following dates: 19 – 20 October, 25 – 27 October, and 29 November – 1 December, 2019. Interested applicants are requested to send their CV and a motivational letter to: majedabushararmediafoundation@gmail.com by the 13th of October. The motivational letter must include why you are interested in oral history, a research topic of interest, and how you will be using the newly acquired skills in your work.

Kindly note, the language used throughout the trainings will be in Arabic – reading knowledge of English is an asset. We welcome applications from all regions. The training will be held in locations close to Beirut, hotel accommodation will be covered and if needed transportation between Beirut and the training venue.
