Conciliation price for Pro Peace
Pro Peace received a special award for its field-tested, non-violent alternatives in dealing with conflicts. As part of a festive ceremony in Trier at the end of September, our CEO Oliver Knabe accepted the reconciliation prize from the „Klaus Jensen Foundation“.
The laudatory speech was held by the Palestinian peace activist Osama Iliwat from the Combatants for Peace, a long-standing partner organization of Pro Peace.
The founder and namegiver of the foundation former mayor of Trier and peace worker Klaus Jensen. Together with his wife, the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Pfalz, Malu Dreyer, he has been donating the 5,000 Euro reconciliation prize since 2004. In addition to Pro Peace, the organization “Peace Women Across the Globe” (peace women) founded in Switzerland was also honored.
Especially in these times, the award gives us courage not to ease up in our commitment to peace and reconciliation!
