This year, the Serbian office of Pro Peace joined forces with the acclaimed podcast Tampon zona to organize an event celebrating girls and their rights. The gathering aimed not only to honor girls but also to shed light on the everyday obstacles and societal pressures that both girls and women encounter.
Tampon zona is a multimedia platform dedicated to amplifying voices calling for change, freedom, and equality. It serves as an independent, safe space where women can speak openly about their needs and constraints—offering a vital platform for those voices that are often overlooked or silenced.
Held in the grand theatre hall of Vuk Theatre, the event attracted around 400 attendees. It featured a unique blend of storytelling and open mic segments, where three writers and a stand-up comedian shared personal reflections in response to simple yet profound questions around themes such as friendship, shame, community, and boundaries. Coming from various places in the region, writers Olja Savičević Ivančević, Lana Bastašić and Radmila Petrovic, and a comedian Jagoda Jovanovic.
The evening was marked by subtlety and strength—raising voices and surfacing important issues that weigh heavily on the lives of girls and women. It fostered a deep sense of solidarity, connection, and mutual support among those present, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
