Project Officer - Advocacy (all genders) – Davao City, Philippines

Who we are
Founded in 1996, forumZFD is an international non-profit organisation working in 13 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. It supports civil society actors engaged in non-violent conflict transformation through advisory work, joint projects, and advocacy for sustainable peace.
In the Philippines, forumZFD has been active in Mindanao since 2008, with offices in Davao, Butuan, and Cotabato. Its work focuses on addressing root causes of conflict through capacity development, dialogue, advocacy, and public engagement. Its programs address the root causes of conflict, including economic, social, and cultural marginalization, through capacity development, advocacy, dialogue facilitation, networking, and public awareness.

About the Project
The advocacy project connects conflict-affected communities in Mindanao with national and international stakeholders, while working to transform dominant narratives around the GPH–CPP/NPA/NDF conflict. It amplifies the voices and advocacy priorities of grassroots communities by linking them with civil society, academia, diplomatic missions, government institutions, and international actors.
In addition, it creates inclusive spaces for dialogue and engagement across local, national, and international levels to foster mutual understanding and advance inclusive peacebuilding approaches. Within this framework, forumZFD plays a coordinating and facilitating role among national partners.
Your Roles and Responsibilities
You will work under the supervision of the Project Manager – Advocacy and collaborate closely with program and project teams. The role focuses on strengthening stakeholder linkages and supporting advocacy efforts to bring peace issues back into the public discourse.
Your main responsibilties include but are not limited to:
- Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate advocacy-related project activities, including documentation in line with forumZFD standards
- Design and facilitate activities such as workshops, trainings, meetings, and conferences
- Support budget planning and financial monitoring in coordination with the finance team
- Conduct field visits and support basic conflict analysis and context monitoring
- Provide technical support to partners in advocacy, networking, and conflict transformation (under guidance of the Project Manager)
- Support capacity-building initiatives for local partners
- Support documentation, reporting, and knowledge management processes
- Build and maintain relationships with civil society, government, and international stakeholde
- Provide logistical and administrative support for project activties
- Contribute to communication and advocacy efforts, including documentation of project outcomes
Your profile
- At least 3 years of professional experience in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree desirable) in relevant fields such as political or social sciences, international studies, law, anthropology, social work, or peace and conflict studies
- Knowledge of advocacy and conflict transformation approaches
- Good understanding of conflict dynamics in the Philippines, particularly the GPH–CPP/NPA/NDF conflict
- Experience in project planning, implementation, and monitoring (ideally conflict-sensitive)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel related to work assignments mostly but not exclusively in Mindanao;
- Excellent English communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
- Ability to work on MS Office.
