The documentary was developed with the research support and collaboration of Pro Peace – Serbia, particularly our colleague Slaven Rašković, exploring the rare and complex process of acknowledging responsibility for war crimes.

It tells the story of Esad Landžo, a former guard at the Čelebići detention camp, convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) of war crimes, who served 15 years in prison. Now living in Helsinki, Landžo has undertaken an extraordinary journey from denying his guilt to confronting his victims and accepting responsibility for his crimes.

His story raises profound questions about guilt, accountability, remorse and the possibility of transformation after atrocities.

We are immensely proud to have contributed to this remarkable documentary and delighted to see this important story receive such extraordinary international recognition.

Congratulations to Barbara Matejčić and everyone involved!
