Who we are

Founded in 1996, Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst (forumZFD), an international non-profit organisation, is currently active in 13 countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. Civil society actors who are committed to peace and non-violence in conflicts form the focus of the organisation's work. forumZFD advises and supports them, collaborates on projects and campaigns together for sustainable peace policies.

forumZFD is a government-recognised member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) consortium and a signatory of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative.

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for line management of 4 Project Officers and will provide oversight and supervision of their projects in Palestine and Israel, including task management, technical input, budget supervision, and ensuring PMEL standards are applied. 

The position works in close coordination with the Regional Director, Finance Manager, and PMEL advisor. The Senior Project Manager is under direct supervision of the Regional Manager. 

You will join a committed team to co-develop meaningful, context-sensitive approaches grounded in forumZFD's values of non-violence and building a more just and peaceful future.

Your tasks and responsibilities/Key responsibilities 

  • Provide direct supervision to Project Officers, including technical guidance, capacity development support.
  • Management of programme projects budgets, including monitoring of expenditure 
  • Ensure best practices in PMEL in the programme are applied along with associated knowledge management.
  • Contributing directly to the further development of the programme, including mapping of new partners and strategic development of current and new projects

Your profile 

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, peacebuilding, management, human rights or international law, international development or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience, preference for experience in peacebuilding/conflict transformation context.
  • Proven track record of working with PM&E systems, monitoring methodologies and tools, especially outcome mapping.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Palestine and Israel conflict context, with a proven record in working in the peacebuilding sector with strong network connections.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, Arabic and Hebrew.
  • Strong experience in planning and carrying out the facilitation of workshops, training, and capacity building.
  • A high level of personal efficiency and an ability to balance multiple tasks. Solid proactive approach concerning the support of project staff and follow ups with supervisor.   
  • A creative, open-minded, participatory approach with values aligned with those of forumZFD.
  • A team-player who is able to work on their own initiative and adapt to changing contexts.

This position is based in East Jerusalem and applicants must have the right to work in East Jerusalem. Unfortunately, forumZFD is currently not in a position to support permit applications.
