Dr. Feride Rushiti (KRCT), Ass. Emirjeta Kumnova (Medica Kosova / University of Gjakova ‘Fehmi Agani’) and Korab Krasniqi (Pro Peace- Program in Kosovo) were invited to discuss the topics addressed in the book.
Moderated by Aurela Kadriu (Qendra Multimedia), the discussion focused on topics related to the trauma of wartime sexual violence and the long-term ramifications for survivors, the family circle, and society as a whole. The rehabilitation process and the role that the family and society play in overcoming the trauma and empowering the survivors were also discussed. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of documenting war crimes as a way of collective recognition of the experiences of survivors and their participation in constructing collective memory and the contemporary history of Kosovo.
The book was published in collaboration between the Kosova Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims (KRCT) and Pro Peace program in Kosovo, and is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Prishtina, and the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo.
